Why don't you carry a tinted moisturizer?
During the development of our product line we experimented with tinted moisturizers and oil based foundations and found that they didn't provide the versatility in coverage that men want. They were either too greasy and chalky or appeared too heavy. And besides, you can't gauge the level of coverage that you want when the product is pre-diluted with a moisturizing creme and you can't use your favorite moisturizer under it without getting a shiny look. With our system, you can have a super sheer, natural, or special corrective application. We avoided the traditional ingredients found in women's cosmetics such as Mineral and Jojoba Oil and instead used smooth Aloe Vera gel for a non-"made-up" look. That's why our men's Foundation system is the industry standard in natural yet effective coverage.

Are there ingredients that I should avoid when selecting a skin care or cosmetic product?
Most ingredients have been tested and determined to be safe for use in skin care and cosmetic products. Depending on the condition of your skin and its sensitivity however, some ingredients can irritate, clog, coat, and dry the skin. While everyone's skin is different, we decided to play it safe. We avoided ingredients like Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Lanolin, Mineral Oil, and heavy fragrance. While they are considered safe to use, these ingredients can create problems for some skin types. Whenever possible, we replaced Propylene Glycol with Butylene Glycol and lowered the alcohol content in items which require its use.

Do skin care products really make a difference?
It depends on the products that you are using. There's a lot of marketing hype out there and many products claim to do more than they are capable of. Men don't want to be bothered with complicated facial care systems. They simply want products that perform well in a reasonable amount of time. Men's cosmetics are applied much thinner compared with women's cosmetics. They also contain ingredients and colors which provide more natural looking results. Our products are designed to enhance a masculine appearance while remaining undetectable. Makeup for women is designed to enhance a feminine look and the products are usually evident on the skin. Some products typically used by women, such as lip color, dark mascara, and bright eye shadow are generally not included in a men's line.

There are several guidelines or rules that you can follow in order to help insure a natural and undetectable application.
Rule #1: Study and use the Studio5ive instructional CD-ROM, "Applying Masculine Cosmetics". This program gives a comprehensive set of instructions for applying effective, yet undetectable cosmetics. It's the only one of its kind on the market. You won't find the secrets revealed on this CD-ROM anywhere else.
Rule #2: Although it is possible to use over-the-counter cosmetics for some of the effects described on "Applying Masculine Cosmetics" CD-ROM, you will achieve the best possible results by using the Studio5ive line. This line has been specifically designed for men's unique requirements and the colors and consistencies are ideal for male skin. If you use Studio5ive cosmetics in conjunction with the Studio5ive instructional CD-ROM, it will be hard to go wrong.
Rule #3: "Less is more". In general, and within reason, the thinner the products are applied, the more handsome and masculine you will appear. Don't "cake it" on. A minimum amount of products are of course necessary in order to achieve the desired effect.
Rule #4: Blend. Use Studio5ive's Bio5ive Blending & Hydrating Spray (TM) as an aid in thoroughly blending your product application. Make sure you avoid an uneven and heavy cosmetic application.
Rule #5: Check it out! Always check out your application in front of a mirror in full light. Check your face from the front, as well as both sides. (A hand held mirror, in addition to a wall mirror can be useful for checking the sides of your face.) You should look younger and healthier, but you shouldn't be able to tell that you are wearing cosmetics. If you can't tell that you have anything on your face neither can anyone else.

How do I know what colors are best with my skin tone?
If you have light, medium, or golden tan skin, virtually all of the Studio5ive Skin System will work for you. Color selection is basically fool proof because Studio5ive only carries shades that compliment natural and masculine facial tones. Your face will never look pink or artificial so you simply can't go wrong. Studio5ive currently has shades for light, medium, or golden tan skin only.
